Ottawa Laser Therapy Techniques
Dave Hanemaayer, RMT utilizes low-intensity laser therapy—also known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT) and cold laser when appropriate in his massage therapy treatments.
LLLT Laser techniques such as laser acupuncture, Laser Tissue Release (LTR), and red LED light pads are used alongside a hands-on approach to support soft-tissue function and provide relief from musculoskeletal pain.
These methods are integrated in massage treatments with clear communication and informed consent to ensure your comfort.
Low-Level Laser Acupuncture
Low-Level Laser Acupuncture uses focused light to stimulate traditional acupuncture points without needles. When integrated into massage therapy treatments, this technique can help reduce muscle tension, calm irritated soft tissues, promote relaxation, and support relief from musculoskeletal pain.

Laser Tissue Release (LTR)
Laser Tissue Release technique (LTR) is a method Dave has developed and refined over nearly 20 years of massage therapy experience. It combines elements of soft-tissue release (STR), myofascial methods, and gentle low-intensity laser light all at the same time. When used in massage therapy treatments, LTR can help reduce muscular tension and support improved soft-tissue function.

Red LED Light Pads
Red LED Light Pads use gentle, "no-intensity" non-laser light to warm and prepare soft tissues. Dave considers this technique a close cousin to low-intensity laser therapy. This LED light-based method can help ease local tension and make deeper hands-on work more tolerable. While the pads are working, Dave continues with hands-on massage to other areas that need attention. Integrated into massage therapy treatments, Red LED Light Pads support soft-tissue function, can reduce musculoskeletal discomfort, promote added relaxation and serve as the perfect introduction to his laser light therapy methods.
